Crescent's Investment in the Community

FACES of Change® is a unique program that serves as a bridge between a local elementary school and the community. Schools are chosen based on their economic need and their ability and desire to benefit from the partnership. We also look for schools that celebrate children, encourage parental involvement and, despite limited resources, are on a clear path to success. FACES engages Crescent's customers, business partners, community organizations, universities and colleges, and government agencies to work with the school to improve a child's emotional, physical, and academic environment. The program focuses on activities and services that directly benefit the children and the school. FACES volunteers have donated transportation, school supplies, uniforms, office furniture and equipment, holiday food baskets and gifts, landscaping and janitorial assistance, professional services, computers, books, and a variety of educational materials. Additionally, volunteers, who include Crescent employees, customers, and business partners, give their time to serve as mentors and tutors to the children of their partner schools. In the 2002 - 2003 school year, 2,694 FACES volunteers across the country contributed more than $312,000 (including goods and services) to their partner schools and more than 7,000 hours of volunteer service.
